This policy covers the public website ksssar.org, run by the Kansas Society, Sons of the American Revolution (KSSSAR). We collect as little as possible.
What we do not do
- No user accounts or logins on this site.
- No advertising, no analytics or tracking scripts, and no tracking cookies.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
Contact form
When you use our contact form, the name, email address, and message you enter are sent by our web server as an email (through Microsoft Office 365) to the officer or chapter you chose, or to the Society's general contact. We use it only to answer you. The form is not saved in a website database. To limit spam, the server briefly keeps a one-way hashed copy of your IP address to count recent submissions; it is not linked to your name and is discarded automatically.
Donations
Online donations are processed by Stripe. You enter payment details on Stripe's secure pages; KSSSAR never sees or stores your card number. Stripe shares with us the information needed to record your gift, such as your name, email, and amount. See our Donation & Refund Policy.
Third-party services
Pages load some files from other providers, which receive your IP address and normal browser information when they do:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com): typefaces on every page.
- Leaflet (via unpkg.com) and OpenStreetMap map tiles: the chapter finder map only.
- Stripe: only when you choose to donate.
The ZIP code search in the chapter finder runs in your browser; the ZIP you type is not sent to us.
Links to other sites, such as the National Society SAR, are governed by those sites' own policies.
Members site
Membership renewals and member records are handled on a separate site, members.ksssar.org, which has its own logins and practices. This policy does not cover it.
Hosting
Like any web host, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, pages requested, and time) for security and troubleshooting.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13. Youth contest entries are handled by contest committee chairs, not through this website.
